When my wife was pregnant she used to visit Achimota Hospital. At that time I was 22 years and so I was scared. In the 8th month of pregnancy, I asked her to go to the Village to give birth, so she went and returned after three weeks.
On the Friday of the 9th month, I realized she was not feeling too well so I sent her to a hospital in Achimota. On arrival, she was transferred to one of the main referral hospitals in Ghana because of the problematic positioning of the two babies in the womb. Just when we turned to go to the hospital, the baby came out of the womb. Luckily for us, one nurse was behind us and she held the baby. If she had not been with us at that point, the baby’s head would have hit the ground. So they had to deliver the second one immediately. So at 11 pm, I still had to send my wife and twins to the referral hospital. So I had to a one experienced and old mother to assist us . We went and they were put in an incubator for 3 days. Today, they are all strong and healthy. They are 9 years now. Well, I am surprised that she was able to deliver before we went to the referral hospital. I think it was a miracle.
Which advice would you give to men who advice their girlfriends to abort their babies?
I would tell them that when you become a parent, be responsible. Help the woman. Be there for her. I could have run away from my wife but I was solidly behind her. Well, right after birth, I had to rent a bigger room for the family even though I was not rich. Ladies, be submissive. Today, I have my own house, business, and a nice family. They run errands for me. There is the blessing that comes with being responsible. Abortion is never an option!
